Stanage Struggle Fun Run 19.9.21
On Sunday 19th September we organised our annual, scenic, cross country Fun Run for children. This takes place alongside ‘The Stanage Struggle’, a challenging cross country run for adults.
This year we registered 48 children to complete the run.
They all made it back to the school field to rapturous applause, cake, ice cream and refreshments which was followed by an awards ceremony.
Medals, shields and certificates are presented to participants, many of whom are annual runners determined to improve their time from their attempts in previous years.
This is what some of our runners thought……
“It’s a nice run”
“It’s not too long”
“I manage to set a new PB (Personal Best) every year”
“It’s good for exercise”
“It’s great fun and challenging”
“It’s good fun, other schools should do it”
“The cake afterwards was yummy!”
“It’s a good route”
“It’s great that our school organise this”
Year 5 & Year 6 Football Tournament
On 20th September, two teams of Y5/6 footballers entered a Hope Valley Cluster Primary Schools tournament which took place at Hope Sports Ground. This was a 'Round-Robin' format so we played against lots of other local primary school teams.
Hathersage Team A achieved 3rd place and Hathersage Team B achieved 4th place.
Well done to all players for their team spirit!
