Millstone Class Activities for Snow Day - 10.3.23
Literacy
Choose from one of the following activities –
Write a short paragraph describing the view from your window when you got up and looked out this morning.
OR -
Write a short poem, your title could be ‘Fun in the snow’ or ‘A snowy day’.
Whichever activity you choose, remember to use interesting adjectives and neat joined up handwriting.
Practise your weekly spellings from your homework folder, ready for the test on Monday. Can you think of any more words beginning with ‘qu’?
Jot them down on the back of your worksheet to share with the class on Monday.
Try and read your school book or choose a book or magazine at home.
Maths
Following on from our lesson yesterday on ‘Fractions’ we were identifying halves, quarters and thirds. Use your pencil and a ruler carefully to draw 3 squares and 3 rectangles and split each set into halves, quarters and thirds. Mark on the fractions you have drawn.
Practise your Times Tables by writing out your 4 times table and then your 8 times tables. (Remember – double your 4 times table gives you your 8 times table) or use TimesTables Rockstars.
PE
If it is safe to do so and you have appropriate clothing, be energetic and have fun in the snow.
Art/DT
Make a sketch from your window or create a model or structure from the snow outside if you are able to.
Please keep practising your Class Assembly words as we are missing our practice today. Have fun today, I look forward to seeing you all on Monday - Mrs Garner.
